Speakers Corner

In September 2007 due to regulars attending the event we were ready for our first speaker event. We thought launching our own networking event was nerve racking. That was nothing compared to having to take bookings, organsing a hotel, sorting out AV. Making sure the speaker turned up (and was sober!)

We learn't a lot from our first event and continue to tweak and improve the event each and every month. If it ain't broke don't try and fix it.

In January 2009 when we had 322 people turn up we thought that's ok next month it will go back to it's usual 180 ish people. But no we had 280 turn up to the next one. For everyone's safety and for our sanity we started to take pre-bookings. This has proved very useful for us to plan ahead.

The event has sold out every month. Some months demand has been so high that we have had to run to or even three events in a month.
