Stop .. Step Away from the Keyboard and Think

We are all so busy right now and barely have time to think. BUT Why?

A few years ago I sat down with a guy called Chris. He was one of those guys who seemed to get lots more done in 24 hours than anyone else. I was with him for 2 hours. During that whole time we had no interruptions. When was the last time you sat down for 2 hours and didn’t get interrupted?

Then I dawned on my his phone didn’t ring, beep , bop or buzz.. What the F88K

See Chris wasn’t allowing his phone to rule his life. He had off every single thing that would make a sound on his phone.. Text, emails, facebook, whatsapp and any other crapware on this phone. What this mean’t when he was doing stuff his train of thought wasn’t lost and he didn’t loose his flow.

His philosophy was if it’s important enough they will leave a message or call back or text. Otherwise it wasn’t actually that important.

One of the things I have decided to do recently is to take 30 minutes each morning to THINK… about my day, my goals , my challenges, my dreams and just think. By taking the time to do this we have space to have thoughts and thoughts become things. So be careful what you think about.

MAKING the time to think is one of the things I see in the most successful people I know. Whether it’s just sitting and daydreaming, meditating or reading a good book.

Ever been so busy all day and at the end of it feel like you have achieved nothing. The busy fool syndrome. If you dont stop and think you could spend alot of thime and energy running .. running … running only to find out you are further from your destination than when you started. What you needed to do is stop think check you are still on the right route or even ask directions!

“Alice laughed. ‘There’s no use trying,’ she said. ‘One can’t believe impossible things.’

I daresay you haven’t had much practice,’ said the Queen. ‘When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast. There goes the shawl again!”
